Motherhood has taught me to prioritize nourishing myself — because when I am well nourished, it's easier to care for my family.

My journey to Motherhood Meals began after five years in NYC's Healthcare Technology. While gaining valuable insights into American healthcare, I recognized the flaws in our system.

Although health alternative medicine had always been a priority to me. My daughter's severe eczema showed me the healing power of food.

Postpartum

Around 6 weeks postpartum, my daughter's face broke out with what seemed like baby acne. It worsened daily as we moved from New York to Florida. Doctors prescribed topical steroids for her symptoms, not the root cause. I held out as long as I could without using the prescription, meanwhile removing most of the protein intake from my diet while my weight along with my daughters weight took a hit. Eventually though, the steroid was my only option.

After reading "Super Nutrition for Babies" I started introducing nutrient dense foods like chicken liver and sardines to my daughter as she began eating solids. By adjusting our diets & undergoing a guided parasite detox, my daughter and I reintroduce eggs and dairy.

Making Changes

Along with dietary challenges, I grappled with my own birth trauma during the first year of postpartum. My labor was uncomfortable, leading to an emergency cesarean. It was emotionally difficult as I had worked to avoid that. I began counseling, and I joined a support group to help process these feelings.

Despite the less-than-ideal birth experience, & recognizing that birth lasts only a few days, I shifted my focus to postpartum. This journey inspired my desire to be part of the "mother" space.
